How we publish
Raw casts, not tidy ones
Sensor data goes up uncorrected, with the drift noted rather than removed. A cleaned cast is somebody's interpretation, and it should be possible to disagree with it.
Null dives are published
A dive that finds nothing is still a survey of a place nobody had surveyed. Leaving those out is how a log turns into a highlight reel and stops being useful to anyone else.
Sample only when asked
Nothing is collected unless a specific question needs it. At these depths a community takes decades to recover, and curiosity is not a question.
